The NWFP police chief told the US experts about the government's endeavours to modernise police force and impart modern training to the force. They were informed that anti-terrorist courses were being conducted on regular basis to enable the force personnel to thwart any threat of terrorism and other eventualities.
They were told that hundreds of police officials had been trained under the Anti-Terrorist courses and their training concentrates on the ways and means to counter the terrorists and dacoits.
Pasha said the police were establishing advance intelligence collections units and preparing complete records of the terrorists.
They also exchanged views on the training needs and modus operandi of investigation and the progress so far made in this connection. The members of the delegation appreciated the performance of the NWFP Police force and stressed the need for bringing more improvement and betterment in the training skills of the NWFP police.
The members of the team included Craig Lovato, programme manager US Anti-Terrorism assistant programme, James Schnaible programme coordinator and Anton Kort.
